How many times have you disqualified yourself?
Disqualified yourself from a job, an opportunity, or a business prospect?
You were so sure that you were unqualified, that you didn’t even throw your hat in the ring . . .
Maybe it’s just me, but in my early years, I never thought I was good enough for anything. If there was a new job I always found myself being willing to train the other candidate to make him more prepared to take on the role, rather than raising my hand and risking rejection. It wasn’t that I didn’t think I could do it, I just let my insecurity and self-talk stop me before I ever began.
Have you ever found yourself thinking the same thing? Maybe your self talk is,
I could never be a good mom. Or I could never be a business owner. I could never step out of my current role to start dreaming again.
I just couldn’t ever.
But my question for you is and has been for myself, why not you?
Why can’t you start that business? Why can’t you be the mom you always dreamed you’d be? Why can’t you be at the top of your field?
Who’s stopping you?
I love going to conferences and talking with ladies that I meet there. Interestingly, no matter where I am, the dialogue is the same. There’s usually this struggle of believing what other people see in us.
The realization that other people see more in us then we see in ourselves.
But you know what I love about being with other women? They call out what is already in you. They can see what you can’t see because they may have been where you are, or where you’re going. It’s these women that we want to spend time with, these women who push us to be the best version of ourselves.
Take this website for example, this has been a dream of mine for over a year and a half. I dreamt of creating a space where women could come for encouragement but also find other strong women to be friends with.
It was in my head and in my heart, but never ever was it on paper.
But the difference that makes me believe that I can do this are the strong women around me who encourage me, who keep me accountable, and who remind me what the dreams in my heart really are.
I need that.
We need that.
It’s the very thing that takes us from
I could never . . .
to
yes I can!
Let the strength of your sisters help you. Let us cheer you on!
So what is your I could never?
This week we encourage you to:
1. Get in community with strong women – It can seem scary at first, but we promise it will be rewarding.
2. Get to know yourself – Start with knowing your personality and how it impacts your daily decisions. Take a free personality assessment.
3. Depend on God – He’s so so good!
